Last Tuesday PIL and I made our way to the University of East Anglia near Norwich for our eldest sons graduation ceremony. He graduated with a BSc in Business Management. He put a huge amount of effort both at school and while at Uni into getting that degree and I think he deserves it. Both PIL and I are immensely proud of him and what he has achieved. (We’re immensely proud of all three of our children). The ceremony itself was more formal that I expected with much doffing of hats and tugging of forelocks. Afterwards we all went into Norwich city centre for lunch at a restaurant our son had booked. A new era begins for him now.
I really don’t have the words to describe just how proud we both are. They say a picture paints a thousand words. So here’s a million words worth of photos we took during the day.
Have a great day.
More Dick soon.
Whoa, that girl in the picture is NOT happy.
Congratulations to your son!

I keep meaning to ask if he overheard what was said. I will remember and if he did overhear, I’ll let you know what it was all about. Thank you for the congratulations. He worked bloody hard for that degree and thoroughly deserved it. Have a lovely evening

She really looked like she was ripping the bloke a new one. And even after she was done, you could still see that she was vexed. I bet the guy ran like the wind afterwards.
He obviously worked hard to get a degree. Everyone who lambastes ‘the youth of today,’ should bloody well pay attention to those that go on to succeed. He’s a credit to you and PIL.
You have a lovely evening as well. I’m off to watch Iron Man 2 with the Spawn.

I really must find out what she was ripping into him about. I will start an investigation immediately. Well, after I’ve finished my breakfast and gone to work. I hope you both enjoyed the movie.

Investigate? Ooh, you’ve turned into a private Dick…see what I did there?
Spawn and I are massive Marvel nerds, so loved Iron Man 2. Now on to part 3.

I think Dick is the operative word there.
I used to buy the occassional Fantastic Four mag when i was younger and looking forward to seeing the new movie. Mind you the only time I get to go the movies is when my kids take me for Fathers Day. We see what they want and I pay! I’m sure thats not right but hey ho

The fantastic Four were my favs as a kid. The first movie was pants, I mean really dirty, used on all sides, stains won’t come out in the wash, pants. Hoping this version will be better.

Heehee, sorry, but Marvel films don’t always seem to know what to do with certain characters and the Fantastic Four is part of that. Saying that, the new one does look better then the last movies, so don’t let me dissuade you from seeing it. We can compare notes…again, the reason why I’m single.

You’re single because you think movies based on Marvel comic characters are pants? Not heard that one before girl. I’m single because I’m a Dick!
I must start a You Book account so we can communicate via that. I did start but they wanted my password for my email so I told them to Foxtrot Oscar. I don’t want my password being handed over willy nilly to MI5, MI6, GCHQ, FBI, CIA, Google and Amazon (who are a bunch of bastards by the way). Plus I can’t remember what it is! Anyway, I think I’ll start again with them and say my name is Peter Perfect or Penelope Pitstop

No I’m single because I can talk about the Marvel franchise ALL DAY LONG.
We do need a platform where we can converse without clogging up your pages. Twatter is too complicated and facebook is…best not go there really.
Amazon are twat-waffles and Google+ hates me…not that I’m paranoid or anything. It’s just that everyone is out to get me.

Why am I not surprised at any of what you’ve just said?
Amazon are wankers anyway. I don’t use Twatter and have no intention. Google+ is far too complicated and as for Facetube I’d rather not put in writing what I think about them. It might need to be email or a visit to the pub and have an actual conversation!

Can feel how proud you were from here! What a wonderful day you all had. BTW Where is your picture as the proud father?

There is one but lets just say it doesnt show me at my best! I may add it at some stage but it does not show my best side ie my back! Would have helped if I’d checked my flies before it was taken!

Thanks mate. Both PIL and I give all the support to our children that we can but don’t want to be “helicopter” parents hovering over them all the time. We think we do a good job and it really was fantastic to be there to see him graduate.

Bit late but hey congratulations to your son, and you for all you did to get him where he is I’m sure. Seems it was a beautiful day, and great photos!

It was a fantastic day and the weather was glorious. He worked very hard for his degree (and played hard for his University Rugby team – broken foot in the first game of the season in his first year and a broken arm in the first game of his second year. He was basically unscathed in his third year). All we did was support and encourage. Thank you for the congratulations.
